We’re fundraising to support the families of sick kids

Hone House at Melbourne Grammar School has a long established affiliation with Ronald McDonald House which offers support to the families of sick children. Each year the Hone House community unites to raise money to help accommodate these families in a bid to assist them deal with the challenging and worrying complications of trying to support and care for a very sick child. To be able to focus solely on supporting their child and not have to worry about food or accommodation makes an enormous difference and is very much worth getting behind!

This year the event will be held on Sunday the 3rd May from 9 - 11am when the Hone community will convene on the banks of the Yarra, at the bottom of Anderson Street to celebrate our fundraising success. We share food, take part in fun activities as part of our Inter-Tutor-Group competition and hear from a representative of RMH about how our efforts make a real difference. Last year we raised a phenomenal $9K but have set the bar even higher this year and are aiming for $15K.

In the run up to the event in May each member of Hone is challenged to raise and donate a minimum sum of $200 as this is the amount of money it costs to accommodate the family of a sick child for one night. There will of course be the opportunity to donate on the day as well.
